A north to south journey brought us to some of the better and lesser known sights of Ethiopia between Axum and Lalibela. The ancestral christianity practiced in this quintessential African country exerts an almost magical attraction. Centuries ago the still unrefined faith must have had a similar feel in Europe. One can only observe and wonder.
